Residents of Lake Lotawana on the city’s sewer system can pay their monthly sewer bill by authorizing the city to withdraw the amount of their monthly sewer bill from their bank account using the Auto Draft Form at the top of this page or you can obtain one at city hall. The application will give the city authorization to withdraw the amount due from the bank account from which the sewer bill will be paid.
You will need to submit a voided check with your form.
Each month the city will initiate a withdrawal order from the homeowner’s bank account to transfer the amount due to the city’s sewer bill account. Each transfer will include the amount due for that month plus 40 cents. An invoice will be sent to the homeowner to verify the amount withdrawn.
You may also elect to simply mail us a check each month for your amount due.
Our box is located at the entrance drive of City Hall and is checked for payments at 8a.m. Monday-Friday. Payments in the box by 8a.m. will be posted to your sewer account the same day.

We get a lot of questions about the sewer bill. We hope this information will help you understand what it pays for and a little bit about our system that we maintain. It is the City's largest expenditure!
The city operates its own sewer system and is responsible for the gravity and force main sewer lines to approximately 1,200 customers. This includes locates, keeping appropriate flow and odor control on an as needed basis. We currently have 24 lift stations to maintain and a 300,000 gallon per day sewer treatment plant. The sewer system costs the City approximately $1.5 million per year to operate. Dividing such a large number for the sewer system operation by the approximate 1,200 homes, gives you the breakdown of each sewer bill that is listed in the paragraph below.
Our sewer bills are sent out by the 10th of each month, with the last day of the month being the due date. Your total sewer bill will consist of two charges, which are listed on your bill, a base rate of $83.12 and your usage amount, which is $6.37 per 1,000 gallons of water used (this is based off of the prior months water usage). If you do not use at least 500 gallons of water, you will have a third charge, a hydration fee of $11.25. Because a small portion (20%) of the sewer bill is based on water usage, the amount of your bill could vary each month.
