IMPORTANT NOTICE FOR HOMEOWNERS, BUILDERS, AND CONTRACTORS Due to city budget constraints, the regular builder inspector will be available Monday through Thursday, rather than five day weeks as in the past. The city will try its best to provide some limited Friday inspections, but contractors should attempt to schedule work and appropriate required inspections Monday through Thursday. | Building Permits Click the following link for the Building Permit Application document. All new construction (residential and business) buildings and major modifications or additions to existing buildings requires a building permit. Inspections will be conducted throughout the construction phases. New construction projects in the Lakeside Residential Zoning area also must be approved by the Lake Lotawana Association. |
| Dock Permits Click the following link for the Dock Permit Application document. The city’s requirements for a dock on Lake Lotawana concern construction design and materials, size, spacing and utilities. Anyone building a new dock or replacing an old dock on Lake Lotawana must first get prior approval from the Lake Lotawana Association for location, and size before applying for a Dock Permit from the City. |
| Miscellaneous Permits Click the following link for the Miscellaneous Permit Application document. Basically used for small projects where full or specialized permits are not warranted such as re-roofing, siding, interior remodeling, and appliance or utility upgrades or replacements (where inspections are required). |

This application is required for all proposed residential and commercial developments, proposed zoning changes, conditional use applications, administrative appeals, annexation requests, and plat/construction plan submittals. |
| Demolition Permit Application Click the following link for the Demolition Permit Application document. A Demolition Permit is required prior to the removal of any significant structure. An application for a Demolition Permit with all required items must be submitted to the Permit Department at City Hall no less than 72 hours prior to obtaining a Building Permit. |
